Telegram spammer tools, spam bots and spam groups, read from Telegram's own rules

By 18 min read

Short answer. A Telegram spammer is any account, script or tool that sends messages, links or group invites people did not ask for. Telegram's Spam FAQ sets the test at the receiving end: "it really doesn't matter what you send, as long as the receivers find it unwelcome." Recipients stop it with Report spam and three privacy settings; group admins with Aggressive Anti-Spam, join approval and a moderation bot.

The phrase telegram spammer is typed by three different people: someone whose inbox is filling with strangers, an admin whose group is being flooded, and someone looking for software that sends. This guide is written for the first two. Telegram spammers and the tools sold to them are described from the receiving end, and the third reader gets the documented consequence instead of a download.

Every Telegram figure below is quoted from a Telegram page read on 12 October 2026, with the page named. Where Telegram publishes no number, the guide says so, in line with the sourcing standard for Sendhaus guides.

What is a Telegram spammer, and what counts as spam?

A Telegram spammer is a sender whose messages the recipients did not expect: private messages to strangers, promotional posts in other people's groups, or unrequested adds to groups and channels. Telegram's Terms of Service forbid using the service "to send spam or scam users", and the Spam FAQ defines spam by the recipient's reaction, with no message count attached.

"For private messages, it really doesn't matter what you send, as long as the receivers find it unwelcome. It could have been a photo, an invite link or a simple 'hello'."Telegram Spam FAQ, telegram.org/faq_spam

The same FAQ lists what people "do mind getting": "unsolicited advertisements, links, invite links to groups or channels, random photos and, above all, anything related to commerce or online popularity". Group posts are judged a little differently. "Moderators are more lenient when it comes to messages in groups", the FAQ says, before adding that anyone who sends spam there will be limited as well.

Telegram's Privacy Policy explains why the telegram spam problem does not go away: "Telegram also has more than 1 billion users which makes it a lucrative target for spammers." People describing telegram app spam messages in reviews and forums usually mean one of four patterns. A stranger's greeting turns into an investment pitch. An invite link arrives with no context. A fake support account answers a question asked in a public group. Or the account is suddenly inside a group full of profit screenshots.

Most telegram spam messages are sent by software, and telegram spammer software is the subject of the next section.

Telegram spammer bot tools: four products under one name

A telegram spammer bot is almost never a bot in Telegram's sense. Telegram's bot introduction says "Bots can't start conversations with users", so software that messages strangers has to log in as a personal account through the user API. Four products share the name: a private-message sender, a group poster, a member adder and a list collector that feeds the other three.

Public code repositories carry names like telegram-spammer, and the first result for this guide's main query on 12 October 2026 was one of them: a script that posts one message into a list of groups. A telegram spamming bot sold on a storefront does the same work with a licence key and a dashboard. The table sorts the four kinds by what each does to the people on the receiving end.

Telegram spammer tools by type: what each does and what Telegram documents

ScraperCollects the member lists the other three use as targetsPersonal accounts, user APIUnofficial API clients are "automatically put under observation" (API ID page)

Each kind of telegram spammer tool has its own guide on this site. The private-message sender is taken apart in what Telegram documents about mass DMs, and the list collector in the guide to what a Telegram scraper can read. The group poster is the subject of how a shill bot posts across groups. Member adders are split between the add-member call and the errors that stop it and invite links as the supported alternative.

What the sales pages share is the login. A real bot needs a token from @BotFather. A telegram spam bot of the kind sold to senders asks for a phone number and a login code, often for several accounts at once. The searches spam bots telegram and telegram spam bots mostly describe those automated personal accounts, since a Bot API bot cannot write first.

The pacing settings in a telegram spammer tool do not change the outcome. A delay between messages keeps the sender under the rate errors covered in Telegram's flood wait and send limits. A spam limit comes from recipients pressing a button, and no delay setting stops a recipient.

A telegram group spam bot that is a real bot behaves differently. A Bot API bot posts in a group only after somebody adds it, and the Bot FAQ caps it: "In a group, bots are not be able to send more than 20 messages per minute." Removing it takes one admin action, covered below.

Telegram spam bot info: @SpamBot is Telegram's own bot

Searches for telegram spam bot info usually land on @SpamBot, and @SpamBot is not a spam tool. Its public page calls it "The official Spam Info Bot by Telegram" and says it "Helps users with limited accounts regain the full functionality." On 12 October 2026 that page showed 35,529,898 monthly users. The bot tells an account whether it is limited and takes appeals.

A telegram spam bot problem therefore has two opposite meanings. For a sender, the problem is that @SpamBot reports a limit. The Spam FAQ says limited accounts can still message "people who have their number saved as a contact" and reply to anyone who writes first, which is the state described in the guide to the mutual contacts only message. For a recipient, the problem is automated accounts in the inbox, and @SpamBot does nothing about those.

A telegram spam bot complaint from a recipient goes through the Report button in the chat. Telegram's main FAQ says "All Telegram apps have 'Report' buttons that let you flag illegal content for our moderators", gives [email protected] as an email route, and sends impersonation cases to @NoToScam. The API lists the reason as inputReportReasonSpam, described in three words: "Report for spam".

Volume of reports against a telegram spammer is not the lever. The Spam FAQ says reports are "checked by human moderators", and the guide to why mass report bots do not work shows that the reporting methods are closed to bots. One accurate report from the person who received the message is the documented input.

Telegram spam groups and spam links: the group side

Telegram spam groups come in two forms. The first is a group an account is added to without asking, usually built around an investment or giveaway pitch. The second is a telegram link spam group, where members exist to drop promotional links at each other. Telegram spam links travel through both, and the Spam FAQ treats unrequested adds exactly like unwanted messages.

A telegram spam group of the first kind is easy to recognise from the inside: thousands of members, a stream of profit screenshots, and an "admin" who moves interested people to a private chat. The member count is part of the pitch. It is produced by the telegram spammer tools described above, which is why the same accounts turn up in many such groups.

The second kind is advertised openly. Directory pages listing a spam links group telegram users can join, or offering a telegram spam groups link, describe rooms where every member posts and nobody reads. A promotion dropped there reaches other promoters. Audiences that stay are built another way, through channel growth with ads and content.

Telegram spam links deserve one specific caution. A link in an unrequested message may lead to a channel, a bot, or a page imitating a Telegram login. Telegram's Privacy Policy says the company "may also use automated algorithms to analyze messages in cloud chats to stop spam and phishing", which catches some of those links and not all. The safe default for a link from a stranger is not to open it.

How to stop Telegram spam groups from adding an account

How to stop telegram spam groups comes down to one privacy setting. Telegram's API names the setting inputPrivacyKeyChatInvite and describes it as "Whether people will be able to invite you to chats". In the apps the setting sits under Settings > Privacy and Security, in the row for groups and channels. Restricting it to My Contacts means a stranger's adder tool can no longer place the account in a group.

For a group the account is already in, report the group from its menu and then leave. Leaving alone only removes the chat from the list; the report is what puts the group in front of moderators. Telegram's moderation page counted 27,632,723 groups and channels blocked in 2026 as of 12 October, without saying how many were spam.

How to stop Telegram spam messages in private chats

How to stop telegram spam messages: report the chat, then close the routes strangers use. Telegram documents four controls for a private inbox: the Report spam button, phone number visibility, a limit on who can start new chats, and a Stars fee for messages from non-contacts. None of the four removes spam from Telegram. Each one removes it from one account.

  1. Report the chat before deleting it

The Spam FAQ describes the mechanism: "When users press the 'Report spam' button in a chat, they forward these messages to our team of moderators for review." Deleting the chat first leaves nothing to forward. Blocking alone hides the telegram spammer from one account and tells Telegram nothing.

  2. Hide the phone number

Telegram's FAQ says "By default, your number is only visible to people who you've added to your address book as contacts", and the setting is at Settings > Privacy and Security > Phone Number. The FAQ states the limit too: people "will always see your number if they know it already and saved it in their address book".

  3. Limit who can start a chat

Telegram's API documentation describes a privacy setting under which "only users that have a premium account, are in our contact list, or already have a private chat with them can write to them in private". Everyone else receives the error PRIVACY_PREMIUM_REQUIRED. The setting does not stop a telegram spammer who pays for Premium.

  4. Put a price on messages from strangers

The main FAQ describes the Star Message: users can "charge a small fee — paid in Telegram Stars — for messages from people who are not in their contacts", and Telegram says it "helps people reduce spam in their inbox". The fee also deters a genuine stranger who has a reason to write.

Readers who search how to stop spam on telegram or how to stop telegram spam often expect a single switch, and Telegram has none. The telegram stop spam messages routine is the four steps above plus the group-invite setting from the previous section. Together they take a couple of minutes in the app.

To stop telegram spam at the source is Telegram's job, and the published record of that work is thin. The moderation page gives one running total for blocked groups and channels and says moderation combines "user reports with proactive monitoring powered by machine learning". No figure for limited or banned spam accounts appears on it.

How to get rid of spam bots on Telegram

How to get rid of spam bots on telegram depends on which kind is in the chat. A real bot carries a "bot" label and can only message an account that started it or shares a group with it, so stopping the bot ends its messages. An automated personal account has no label and is handled like any other telegram spammer: report first, then block.

How to remove telegram spam bot chats of the first kind: open the bot's profile, stop and block it, then delete the chat. Telegram's bot introduction is the reason the method works: "Bots can't start conversations with users. A user must either add them to a group or send them a message first." A stopped bot has no route back unless the user restarts it.

How to stop spam bots on telegram groups is an admin task. A bot enters a group only when a member adds it, so the first control is the member permission to add users, and the second is removing the bot like any other member. Automated personal accounts that join through a public link are a different problem, and the tools in the next section apply to them.

One limit applies to both kinds. Reporting a spam account does not produce a reply, a case number or a deadline. Telegram's Privacy Policy says only that when a spam report is "confirmed by our moderators", the sender's account "may be limited from contacting strangers – temporarily or permanently".

Telegram anti spam for group admins: native tools first

Telegram anti spam for a group starts with features Telegram ships: Aggressive Anti-Spam for groups with over 200 members, default member permissions, slow mode, invite links that need admin approval, and the ban, report and delete actions. Since 11 June 2026 Telegram also lets admins "add AI guardians to screen people before they join". A third-party bot is the second layer.

Telegram's announcement of Aggressive Anti-Spam is candid about the trade. "Huge Telegram chats sometimes rely on third-party anti-spam bots to help admins keep them clean," it says, and then explains why those bots can do more than the built-in filters.

"Such opt-in bots can be efficient because they are not constrained by Telegram's commitment to user privacy and can afford to be more proactive than our built-in anti-spam systems."Telegram blog, December 2022

That sentence is the honest brief for any telegram anti spam bot. A moderation bot reads every message in the group so that it can remove some of them. Switching on Aggressive mode is the same decision made with Telegram's software: the API page says the native system deletes spam "using the official Telegram Antispam bot", which "does not have to be added as participant or admin".

What a Telegram bot to stop spam can and cannot do

A telegram bot to stop spam works through four Bot API methods and needs admin rights for each. deleteMessages removes "1-100" messages per call. banChatMember removes an account so that it "will not be able to return to the chat on their own using invite links". restrictChatMember mutes, and approveChatJoinRequest admits. Without the can_delete_messages and can_restrict_members rights, the bot can only watch.

Two documented limits shape what a moderation bot catches. The Bot FAQ says "Bot admins and bots with privacy mode disabled will receive all messages except messages sent by other bots", so spam posted by a real bot that a member added is invisible to the moderation bot. The second limit is the bot's own voice: 20 messages per minute in a group, which a captcha prompt for every newcomer can use up during a raid.

Which is the best Telegram anti spam bot?

No independent benchmark names a best telegram anti spam bot. The comparison pages returned for that search on 12 October 2026 were vendor blogs and directories, and the names that recur are Combot, Rose, GroupHelp and the open-source tg-spam. None of those pages publishes a detection rate or a false-positive rate. Five checks sort the candidates better than a ranking does.

  • Rights requested. A filter needs the delete and restrict rights. A bot that also asks to add admins or change group info is asking for more than the job.
  • Join screening. Whether newcomers can be held behind an approval link or a challenge before their first post.
  • First-message rules. Links, forwards and media from new members held separately from the same content sent by regulars.
  • Correction path. Admins should be able to see and reverse what the bot removed, the way Recent Actions works for the native filter.
  • Who runs it. A hosted bot reads the group on someone else's server; a self-hosted one keeps the messages with the group's owner.

A group with unusual rules sometimes needs its own bot: a membership check against a customer list, a filter tuned to one language, or a log the owner keeps. That is ordinary Telegram bot development and automation work, bounded by the same four methods. Admins who repost the group rules on a timer can do that natively, as the guide to scheduling Telegram messages sets out.

The telegram spam problem solve that vendors promise is, in practice, a stack. The public link is replaced by an approval link, Aggressive Anti-Spam is switched on, new members lose link previews, and a bot handles what remains. Each layer adds friction for real members, and no layer is documented as complete.

When the Telegram spammer label lands on a legitimate sender

A business can be treated as a telegram spammer without buying any tool. The Spam FAQ's test is the recipient's reaction, so a welcome message to a purchased list, a promotion sent to fellow group members or a batch of adds to a new channel all qualify. A first limit "most likely" lasts "a few days or so", and repeat limits run longer.

"Repeated offences will result in longer periods of being blocked. If you keep writing unwanted messages to strangers, you may lose the ability to do so forever."Telegram Spam FAQ, telegram.org/faq_spam

False positives are acknowledged in the same document. "Some numbers may trigger an overly harsh response from our system, either due to their previous owners' activities or due to them being certain virtual/VOIP numbers", the Spam FAQ says, and it sends those cases to @SpamBot. A sender whose reports were accurate and who asks for early release gets a fixed answer: "this is impossible".

The durable fix is to change who receives the message. A channel post reaches subscribers, a group post reaches members, and a bot reaches the people who pressed start. All three audiences chose to be there, which is the condition the Spam FAQ sets for any contact. Moving a list onto one of those surfaces is the work behind a Telegram broadcast and bulk messaging service, and it is the only kind of sending that Sendhaus, an independent Telegram messaging provider, takes on.

Sendhaus does not run sender tools, scraped lists or member adders. The reasons are set out on the page about how Sendhaus works and what it declines. Consent law also sits above the platform's rules: in the EU, Article 13 of Directive 2002/58/EC requires prior consent for unsolicited direct-marketing messages. This guide is not legal advice.

What Telegram does not publish about spam

Telegram publishes the principle and withholds the thresholds. Five figures the spam conversation depends on appear in no Telegram document read for this guide: the reports needed for a limit, the length of repeat limits, the number of spam accounts actioned, the accuracy of the automated filters, and the criteria @SpamBot applies to an appeal.

  • Reports before a limit. The Spam FAQ says moderators review reported messages. It gives no count.
  • Length of a second or third limit. "Longer periods" is the full published schedule.
  • Spam accounts limited or banned. The moderation page counts groups and channels, 27,632,723 in 2026 so far, and the word spam does not appear on it.
  • Filter accuracy. Neither Aggressive Anti-Spam nor AI guardians comes with a detection or false-positive rate.
  • Appeal criteria. The Privacy Policy says "You can send an appeal using @Spambot" and nothing about how appeals are judged.

A tool, seller or guide that quotes a "safe" number of messages per day, or a number of reports that removes a telegram spammer, is quoting a figure Telegram never issued.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I getting spam messages on Telegram?

Telegram's Privacy Policy gives the structural reason: more than 1 billion users make the app a lucrative target for spammers. The practical reasons are a phone number or username that strangers can find, membership of public groups whose member lists are visible, and default privacy settings that let anyone start a chat or send a group invite.

Can a Telegram spam bot message me first?

A real bot cannot. Telegram's bot introduction says bots can't start conversations with users, and that a user must add them to a group or send them a message first. An unrequested message that looks automated comes from a personal account driven by software, which carries no bot label and is reported like any other Telegram spammer.

Does reporting a Telegram spammer do anything?

A report forwards the messages to Telegram's moderators. The Spam FAQ says that if moderators decide the messages deserved it, the account becomes limited temporarily, and repeated offences bring longer periods. Telegram does not tell the reporter the outcome and publishes no number of reports that triggers a limit.

Is @SpamBot safe to use?

@SpamBot is Telegram's own account. Its public page describes it as the official Spam Info Bot by Telegram, which helps users with limited accounts regain full functionality. The bot reports whether an account is limited and accepts appeals. Lookalike usernames exist, so open the bot from the link inside Telegram's Spam FAQ.

Does Telegram have a built-in anti-spam filter for groups?

Yes. Aggressive Anti-Spam is available to groups with over 200 members and deletes spam automatically using Telegram's own algorithms. Admins switch it on per group and report false positives from the Recent Actions tab. Since June 2026 Telegram also offers AI guardians that screen people before they join a group.

How long does a Telegram spam limit last?

Telegram's Spam FAQ says a first limit most likely lasts a few days or so. Repeated offences result in longer periods, and continuing to write unwanted messages to strangers can remove the ability to do so forever. No exact durations are published, and the FAQ says early release is impossible.
